Shelly Stiles has written a number of pieces for "Conservation Currents",  a bi-weekly feature written by BCCD board and staff members since August 2006 for the Bennington Baner. She has generouslly allowed us to re-publish some of the article here.  Shelly is the District Manager of the Bennington County Conservation District (BCCD), whose mission is promoting rural livelihoods and protecting natural resources in southwestern Vermont.

Special thanks to Sylvia Harris for her contribution to the organization and content of the agricultural section of the VACD website.  Sylvia is an Agricultural Resource Specialist for the Vermont Association of Conservation Districts (VACD) in southern Vermont.
