What to know before ditching, tiling or stumping

Representatives from agencies regulating and protecting wetlands and streams will help you understand the rules and your rights. State and federal regulations for streams and wetlands will be outlined, including enforcement and availability of easement and conservation programs. We will cover the regulatory outlook for tile drainage, including ways to manage tile drainage for improved climate change adaptation, nutrient capture, and performance. Also, the draft Memphremagog Basin Plan and its action plan will be presented for feedback, outlining the entire action plan as well as details about the agricultural part of the plan.

This event is sponsered by Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District and Poulin Grain. Coffee and pastries will be provided.

Location : Community Room at the Poulin Grain Main Office, 24 Railroad Square, Newport VT
