Agricultural Resource Specialist
Safe drinking water,
clean rivers and streams,
good fishing,and
healthy farms
are all common goals for Vermonters. The Agricultural Resource Specialist (ARS) program is designed to help landowners work toward reaching these goals on their own property.
Working with Natural Resources Conservation District and the Vermont's Non-point Source Pollution program the ARS program helps bring technical expertise to landowners who want to improve water quality and habitat and producers who want to meet voluntary Accepted Agricultural Practices.
The Agricultural Resource Specialist brings landowners and producers together with experts from different fields, connecting technical, financial and community resources to make things happen on the ground. Whether it is a contaminated well, a collapsing stream bank or an expanding dairy farm, the ARS can find the right match of people and programs to find a solution.
