| Do you have thoughtful ideas for helping the District accomplish its goals?
The District is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors, who manage the business of the District through oversight of personnel, setting conservation priorities, and coordinating programs with state and federal agencies, municipalities, and landowners. The Board generally meets once a month and is also advised by Associate Supervisors.
Currently, a Supervisor position is open, and nominees are being sought for election.
Supervisors have a direct say in how the District deals with the natural resource issues of water quality, forestry, agricultural best management practices, and soil erosion in Washington and Chittenden counties. The actions of a supervisor can positively impact use and conservation of natural resources within the watershed. In addition, supervisors are community leaders in natural resource management, providing guidance and information to their friends and neighbors.
