Locally Led Conservation Surveys

Natural Resources Conservation Districts (NRCDs) have annual surveys for residents and land stewards to share their concerns and priorities for future conservation projects. The feedback collected will be taken into account to help shape future conservation funding decisions to prioritize local needs.

These surveys helped Districts secure federal USDA NRCS funding for identified priority natural resource concerns in Conservation Districts through Local Fund Pools. In FY 2026, $4.4 million was secured across Vermont through these local fund pools.

Bennington County NRCD
Local Working Group meeting was held on February 19, 2026 at the Manchester Public Library.

Caledonia County NRCD
2nd Annual Community Dinner was held on November 12, 2025.

Essex County NRCD
Community Supper & Public Meeting was held on November 12, 2025.

Franklin County, Grand Isle County, and Lamoille County NRCDs
Local Working Group Meeting was on January 15, 2026. They also hosted a Community Water Quality Meeting on February 25, 2026 at the St. Albans Museum. Thank You Dinner & Community Meeting was on January 22, 2026 in Jeffersonville.

Orleans County NRCD
Locally Led Annual Meeting was held on February 11, 2026.

Otter Creek NRCD
Local Funding Pool & Working Group Public Comment Meeting was held on February 2, 2026 at UVM Extension’s office in Middlebury.

Poultney Mettowee and Rutland NRCDs
Local Working Group Meeting was held on January 30, 2026 at the PMNRCD office in Poultney.

White River NRCD & Ottauquechee NRCD
Local Working Group meeting was held on March 13, 2026 at the Vermont State University campus in Randolph.

Windham County NRCD
Conservation Coffee Chat in Putney was held on December 16, 2025.

Winooski NRCD
Locally Led Working Group Meetings were on January 12,2026 in Richmond and January 14, 2026 in Marshfield.
