In collaboration with partners at the South Hero Land Trust, Grand Isle County NRCD hosted their 4th Conservation Block Party in Alburgh this year. The event emphasized wetlands education and featured a guided walk led by Elijah Schumacher, Wetlands Ecologist with the Vermont DEC. Participants explored various benefits of wetlands, including their role in enhancing water quality and providing flood protection, highlighting the importance of wetlands conservation. Attendees also learned how to identify wetlands and how to take advantage of living near them. The Conservation Block Party series aims to connect with the local community in a fun and accessible way!
